Mastering is the process of ‘framing’ the loudness, equalizing the sound and optimizing the stereo image of a recording with the help of the right equipment and software. Get one of our engineers to take care of your mastering. With their many years of experience they know to give your recordings greater precision and liveliness.
WHAT IS MASTERING?
Mastering is divided up into several individual processes namely equalizing, adding extra reverb for situating the recording spatially, dynamics (compression, limiting), stereo imaging and equalizing and processing with analogue and digital equipment and the best advanced plug-ins.
FIRST-RATE EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE
The state of the art equipment and software we use is excellent for all of these mastering processes. The equalizers and unique compressor/limiters in our mastering console (BW103) from Daniel Weiss are among the best in the world. We also use analogue equipment from Solid State Logic, Pismsound, Maselec, Crane Song and Studer. Click here for specific information about the world class equipment we use.
SAMPLE RATE CONVERSION A VERY CRUCIAL PROCESS
Sample rate conversion (full DSD to PCM) and redither is done with Saracon and Weiss. This allows for perfect finishing in 16 bits and preserves all the transparency and benefits of high -resolution recording with unparalleled precision in every detail.
RESTORATION OF OLD AND NEW RECORDINGS
Using the best plug-ins by Cedar and Algorithmics Renovator allows us to remove unwanted noises at any sample rate up to and including DSD256. Sounds like record hiss, low rumbling in the recorded acoustic, scratches, coughing audiences and creaking chairs can be removed. An old record can be made to sound as if it had been recorded yesterday. The results will amaze you.
